Since opening up over Instagram about my sensitivity to energy and my interest in mystical things, I've been getting a lot of questions asking how I came to know myself as an empath. I'm an advocate for vulnerability in human connection and feel strongly about the role of story telling in normalizing the human experience (and creating social change) - so I thought I'd get personal and share my story in hopes it might help you better understand your experience, and further how empaths and those sensitive to energy are understood by society.
Read MoreGoing vegan is not an easy decision. It's a major life change. And while there are many (many, many) perks to being vegan, it's not for everyone. Nutrition is the cornerstone of health and like I've said before, some nutrients (B12 specifically) are only found in animal products. Not only will veganism impact your nutrition and the vitamins and minerals your body gets, as a vegan you will also need to become intentional about how you dress, what companies you support, and how you fill your days. Read MoreOne of my favourite things to talk about is the power we have to shape our lives due to an energy law called the Law of Attraction. If you've found this blog you are most likely interested in personal growth and familiar with the law but maybe not seeing the results you expected. Manifesting is very real, and you can live a creative and intentional life, but if you're new to the practice, it takes a lot of work. Something we don't often talk about and the main reason people quit soon into the process and become skeptical. But I don't want you to quit! I want you to be successful, to feel the magic that is all around us and learn how to tap into that magic to create a beautiful life. One that is easier. One that is intentional.
Read MoreWhat I'm learning is this: everything I want to accomplish in life is on the other side of fear, and staying safe means staying small. And I don't want to stay small. Which is exactly what came up during a branding call I had last night. Our chat brought me to tears (happy, grateful ones) because while the conversation was meant to be about branding, Melissa and I realized I'm not even close to thinking about branding because I still have a massive fear of being seen.
Read MoreI was out for a walk with my pup when she sat and posed in the fall leaves. I grabbed my phone, opened the camera app, and boom: "There is not enough available storage to take a photo." I scrambled to create space. But while I was clearing old photos from my gallery my dog moved and I missed the chance to take her pic. As annoying as it was, it was a good lesson in the importance of making space.
Read MoreA commonality between all people, regardless of our skills, abilities, field of study and/or career path, is our innate need to fulfill a purpose. A reason for being here. To do something. Even when we have no idea what that something is. We spend a lot of time wondering what we are here to do and when we start to figure it out - through an 'AH-HA moment' we spend even more time questioning if the idea is even worth pursuing. We find a hundred reasons to pass our ideas off as wishful thinking, believing we don't have the skills, personality, networks, or resources to pull it off. If that's you - here are 4 questions to ask yourself if your idea is really worth pursuing.
Read MoreSleep. A much needed escape for sensitive folk. A time to step out of our body and into our consciousness and clear whatever we may have accumulated over the day. I've never been much of a sleeper but these days I've taken the 'not much of a sleeper' to the extreme - staying up until 5am or later until finally dozing off. Here are a couple things I've come across incase you are also trying to catch a couple much needed zzzs.

Read MoreHappy LAST day of September! Think we can finally say HELLO to fall?! Because apple pie, comfy sweaters, crisp air, and excuses to spend time curled up with my love (🐶) makes the year's final smile my FAVOURITE time of year! It's funny though... when I tell people how excited I am about fall, I'm often met with hostility.
